Privacy Policy

Your keyboard.
Your privacy.

This policy explains how Kasa Keyboard handles keyboard input, clipboard history, Secure Text, GIF searches, local settings, and device permissions.

Controller: Emre Doğan Effective: July 2026

English is the primary version of this Privacy Policy. If a translation differs from the English text, the English version prevails.

01Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to Kasa Keyboard, developed and controlled by Emre Doğan. It describes what information the app processes, where that processing occurs, and the choices available to you.

02Privacy-First Approach

Kasa Keyboard is designed to perform its core keyboard functions on your device. It has no account system, cloud sync, analytics SDK, telemetry SDK, crash-reporting SDK, advertising SDK, user-tracking SDK, or app-generated user identifier. Network access is limited to the GIF feature and user-initiated external actions described below.

03Keyboard Input and Typed Text

Kasa Keyboard does not store or transmit normal keyboard input. Typed characters are delivered to the app or field in which you are typing.

Limited text surrounding the cursor may be processed temporarily on your device for local functions such as cursor movement, capitalization, and email or domain suggestions. This text is not saved as typing history and is not sent to a remote server or third parties. Local typing assistance is disabled in password-sensitive fields and fields that request no personalized learning.

04Clipboard History

When clipboard history is available, Kasa Keyboard can observe text copied to the Android clipboard while its input-method service is active. Clipboard history is stored locally in encrypted form using Android Keystore-backed AES-GCM encryption. It is not uploaded by Kasa Keyboard.

Clipboard items may be pinned, deleted, or removed automatically according to the cleanup duration you select. Pinned items are not removed by automatic cleanup. Sensitive-looking items may be visually masked and stored, or you can choose to skip storage of detected sensitive items. Sensitive detection is pattern-based and may not identify every private text or password. Visual masking does not mean the underlying saved value is removed.

When you choose to paste an item, its text is supplied to the active app as requested.

05Secure Text Vault

Secure Text Vault records are stored locally and encrypted using Android Keystore-backed AES-GCM encryption. Kasa Keyboard does not upload these records.

You can add, edit, delete, and paste Secure Text records. Pasting a record supplies the selected value to the active app. Decrypted records may be held temporarily in memory while the vault is open and are cleared from the visible keyboard state when the vault locks, closes, the service ends, or a value is pasted.

06Local Settings and Preferences

Theme, language, haptic, sound, keyboard size, typing-assistance, clipboard, screen-protection, and similar preferences are stored locally in the app’s private storage. Kasa Keyboard does not transmit these settings to GIPHY or to a remote server.

Text extraction from selected images is processed on the device. The image itself is not stored permanently.

07GIF Search and Internet Access

The GIF feature uses GIPHY. When you submit a GIF search, your GIF search query is sent to GIPHY. Trending requests, GIF previews, and selected GIFs are also loaded from GIPHY. GIPHY may receive ordinary network information, such as your IP address and request metadata, under its own privacy practices.

Kasa Keyboard does not send normal keyboard input, clipboard history, Secure Text records, text extracted from selected images, or app settings to GIPHY. Text entered specifically in the GIF search interface is handled as a GIF query, not as normal host-app input.

08GIF Search History, Favorites and Caching

Recent GIF search terms and favorite GIF identifiers or URLs may be stored locally so those features remain available. You can remove recent searches and favorites from the app.

GIF results may be cached temporarily in memory or in app cache storage. Selected GIF send files are subject to opportunistic cache cleanup, and Android or the image-loading library may also manage cached files. Kasa Keyboard does not promise deletion at an exact minute because cache lifetime can depend on app use and system behavior.

09Permissions Used by the App

  • INTERNET: used for GIPHY search, trending GIFs, preview loading, and selected GIF download.
  • VIBRATE: used to provide optional haptic feedback for key presses and settings previews.
  • Input method service access: Android binds to Kasa Keyboard through the system-protected input-method service so the keyboard can enter text in the active field.

10Optional Device Authentication

Device authentication for Secure Text is optional. If you enable it, Kasa Keyboard uses Android device authentication and an authentication-bound Android Keystore key. A successful unlock remains valid for a limited session of approximately 120 seconds. If you do not enable this option, Secure Text remains encrypted but does not require device authentication each time it is opened.

11Screen Capture Protection

Kasa Keyboard protects its app and keyboard windows from screenshots and screen recording by default using Android’s secure-window protection. You may temporarily allow screen capture for a duration you select. Screen capture is then protected again when that temporary period ends.

12Data Sharing and Third Parties

Kasa Keyboard does not sell personal data and does not contain analytics, telemetry, advertising, crash-reporting, or user-tracking SDKs.

GIPHY receives GIF search queries and requests needed to load GIF content. The active app receives characters, clipboard items, Secure Text values, text extracted from selected images, or GIFs only when you choose to enter, paste, or send them. Once content is provided to another app, that app’s privacy practices apply.

13External Links and User-Initiated Actions

Feedback email and Play Store actions open an external email app, service, browser, or Google Play only after you select the relevant action. These external services may process information according to their own policies. Kasa Keyboard does not automatically send your keyboard content through these actions; you decide what to submit.

14Backups and Device Transfer

Kasa Keyboard disables Android app backup and excludes app preferences and app-owned files from cloud backup and device transfer. The app does not provide cloud sync or an account-based restore service.

Kasa Keyboard also lets you create a manual, password-protected backup of your Secure Text records as a .kasakst file, and restore from one. This manual backup includes only Secure Text records and the record metadata needed for the operation; it does not include clipboard history, the image-to-text board, calculator history, GIF search history or favorites, themes, or general app settings. Backup and restore run entirely on your device and do not require an internet connection — this is unrelated to the optional GIF network feature described elsewhere in this policy. The backup password you choose is used locally to protect the file, is not stored by Kasa Keyboard, and is not sent to any server; if you forget it, the backup cannot be recovered. You choose where the backup file is saved and which file to restore from using Android’s system document picker, and no broad storage permission is required. If you select a provider such as Google Drive through that picker, the file transfer is handled by Android and that provider under their own terms — Kasa Keyboard does not connect to a Drive account or upload the file itself. Restoring a backup keeps your existing Secure Text records, adds any records that are not already present, and skips exact duplicates; if the result would exceed the app’s record limit, the restore is not performed rather than being applied partially.

15Data Retention and Deletion

Local settings remain until changed or app data is removed. Clipboard items remain until deleted, automatically cleaned up, or app data is removed; pinned items remain until manually unpinned or deleted. Secure Text records remain until you delete them or remove app data. GIF search history and favorites remain until removed or app data is removed.

Clearing Kasa Keyboard’s app data or uninstalling the app removes app-owned local data. Information already pasted, entered, emailed, or sent to another app is controlled by the receiving app or service.

16User Control

You can manage clipboard cleanup, pin or delete clipboard items, skip detected sensitive clipboard items, remove GIF searches and favorites, add or delete Secure Text records, enable or disable Secure Text device authentication, change typing assistance, control haptic feedback, and manage temporary screen-capture access through the app’s settings.

17Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when Kasa Keyboard’s features, legal requirements, or third-party services change. The effective date shown at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
